How to connect wii to internet?

I'm following guidelines on the Nintendo website and have got stuck at step 9 which says if the connection appears with a padlock (it does) then the Access Point requires a pword. The pword can usually be found on the security tab of your wireless router’s settings. I can't find where the security tab of my router's settings anywhere. I can't find anything to do with my router. Can anyone help?
