Was NAZISM ended after the WAR ?or is it as a belief still very much alive?

At the end of the war ,when the Allies put the former nazis back to run Germany ,belief system intact,to a population of people who formerly embraced Nazism or facism, how do you change someone who became dependant on a way of doing things?like RUSSIA for example after paristrika the older population wanted to keep the old system and still do today! to the point where there is talk of going back to the old way. so my question is did nazism die with the of the second world war?
