How do you transform long straight hair to tousled/curled hair?

I have super long hair.....30 inches to be exact....and I have no idea how to tousle/curl my hair. I've bought the tousle me softly mousse, spray gel, and regular gel, but i have no idea how to use them correctly. On all of the videos I've watched it says to apply the mousse then braid it, blow dry it, unfold, then use a curling iron. The problem is i don't have a curling iron. If you could just please tell me how to do this task it'd be amazing. If you know a way without the tousle me softly collection that works too. Just simple steps on how to do this is what I'm looking for. thanks!
