Why are some people against the idea of god providing a spouse?

Not everyone thinks that god doesn't provide a spouse for us. There are some who are hell bent against this idea but there are others who have spouses who insist god is why they are together.the bible does state what god has brought together let no man put asunder. My question is this - why do u think those who insist god doesn't provide a spouse think and insist he doesn't ?
