Every time I turn on my gas stove top, or my electric oven or my electric clothes dryer, I smell propane?

every time I turn on my gas stove top, or my electric oven or my electric clothes dryer, I smell a strong propane or kerosene smell! Any idea why and what I should do? Who should I contact for repair?
